Wee Dooker On Set Once Again
Following completion of a refit reported by the Argyll Advertiser the Loch Fyne Skiff, “Wee Dooker” has been away from Tarbert making its second appearance in a film production.
A few years ago she performed in a cinematic project on Scottish myths filmed along the Ardlamont shore but this never made the box office. The latest venture being filmed in Port Logan Galloway is the production “ Keepers” starring Gerard Butler.
Wee Dooker returned to Tarbert by road last weekend and Chris Malkin of the Ring Net Heritage Trust who made his own début as an extra reports that it was a hard working week on the film set from early morning till late in the evenings but everyone was very friendly and the Skiff was handled very professionally by the transport crew.
Wee Dooker has earned her refit cost with sufficient funds to ensure her care for a few years to come and the Trust will be looking for other opportunities for the boats in their care to take part in historic drama production.
Look out for the Ring Net Heritage Trust at this year’s Tarbert Festivals and events in Campbeltown, Ardrishaig, upper loch Fyne and Tighnabruaich continuing their program of exhibiting the history of fishing craft in the area.
