Support West Coast Fishing Heritage

Become A Friend of the Ring Net Heritage Trust

West coast fishing heritage has a rich and colourful background. The Ring Net Heritage Trust was established in 2014, in order to protect the memory of ring net fishing. For several years we had been noticing a growing and very passionate interest in west coast fishing heritage. We wanted to play our part in the celebration and conservation of such a rich and cultural part of Scotland’s past.

We have two vessels in our care; Shemaron, the ex-ring net fishing boat, and the Wee Dooker, an example of a Loch Fyne Skiff.  We rely on charitable donations to look after these beautiful boats. This means we can provide the public with opportunities to share in their heritage. Charitable funding and community support help to keep the Scottish fishing heritage alive.

We would like to invite you to become a Friend of Ring Net Heritage Trust. For a £15.00 one time donation, you will become a lifetime member of the trust, receive regular updates on the research and conservation of our vessels, and be the first to hear about opportunities for adventures onboard the boats. You will also be helping to protect the history of ring net fishing in Scotland.

Simply enter your email below and we will email you with details.

Very best wishes,

Fiona Malkin and Wendy Malkin
